Please check in advance to ensure these organizations can take your items. It operates a robust network of open-to-the-public thrift stores. The Salvation Army is another well-known mission-driven organization that accepts donations of all kinds. FOPAL gladly accepts: Fiction and nonfiction books Textbooks and computer books Commercially recorded items: audio books on CDs or cassettes, movies on DVD. And donations to Goodwill are tax-deductible if you itemize. The following options may be alternatives for lightly used, newer material that needs a new home. Goodwill has an expansive, lenient donation policy that at least with regard to books doesn’t shift with the calendar. Unfortunately, during COVID we are not able to take donations of books and DVDs.
